Few things say summertime like a plump red juicy tomato. And few fruits can be as challenging to grow as one of them. Today, with more than 6,000 varieties to choose from in a wide array of colors, shapes, sizes, growth habits and yield dates, Aussie Al and I hopefully wont be scratching our heads wondering what went wrong as we go against each other in a tomato growing challenge!
Aussie Al has had a one week head start planting his crop as Kimmyroo was unaware of the starting date of the challenge 🤔 (I must have missed the email) As a good sport though I didn't complain, I just gracefully admired Aussie Al's work as he proudly showed it off in chat.
Three Tomatoes A family of three tomatoes were walking downtown one day when the little baby tomato started lagging behind. The big father tomato walks back to the baby tomato, stomps on her, squashing her into a red paste, and says, "Ketchup!
Yesterday evening I arrived home after a busy crazy day feeling extremely hungry as I had forgotten to eat with Mick preparing left over Chinese takeaway. I had two choices, eat something yummy 🤔 or race down to Bunnings to purchase everything needed to grow a successful crop of tomatoes. As you can see my choice was Bunnings LOL
Its now Saturday 19/09/2020 and I'm ready to get the baby plants into their new beds. so please wish me luck as I go against one of the best Aussie contenders in NSW.
It looks as though Al needs to get one more tomato plant? I think I can see 3 plants in his picture 🤔
Lookin’ good.
Q. Why did the tomato blush?
A. Because he saw the salad dressing.
@aussieal looking good Al! I must say your climate is favourable
Had a good look at my tomatoes today and they're looking good!! Its only just starting to warm up nicely so looking forward to the progress.
