Remembering Joy | Messages of condolence and tributes.
I have started this thread here so things don't get lost from the live chat. Joy has been a member of our community in the past and we were all following and wishing her well as she was going through her tough battles over the past several years. We are all in mourning today and our deepest sympathies go to Bruce and Family.
I'm going to speak straight from the heart as there is never the right way to deliver sad news. Joy our strong, dear, feisty (meaning strong & determined), passionate loving family member, passed away at 3.00 pm this afternoon. Joy was with the love of her life, Bruce, when her time had come to leave this world. Joy was the luckiest woman in the world to have a man like Bruce with her, always through thick and thin as she battled many different challenges of late.
Our deepest sympathies to you Bruce and your family.
Bruce was devoted to Joy, and I know how hard it will be for you, mate. I know that you will have plenty of support from your relatives, friends and members of your Labor Party. As I write this, I have tears in my eyes.
vanislander: I am so sorry to hear this sad news. Bruce & Joy have been in my thoughts so much of late. Dear Bruce - I want you to know that your ABC family cares about you very much - even people like me whom you've never met, living halfway around the world. ♥♥♥ ! I am also happy to see that Keith, your brother (whom I have met), is there with you.
Rick: 8:04 am Well said Kim, Al & Van. I met Bruce and Joy twice during my 2014/15 Oz trip. My impression of Joy was of a very strong-willed person who would not let things get in her way. She would speak her mind (especially when it came to political matters!), but she also had a lot of love for Bruce, family, and her passion for plants with her patio garden community/website. She will be missed by many people. Bruce & Family, we are all thinking of you at this difficult time.
Oh Bruce, wish that I was there to give you comfort in person at this difficult time. Just finding out from details below as I have my morning coffee. It has been a long tough fight for one tough lady and her tough spouse. We all share your grief and care about you very much. Sending hugs of friendship across the ocean.
@ Bruce...i`m sorry for your lost. Sending prayers and hugs.

I very rarely get into the chat and read about Joy only today.
I send you a comforting hug, will Joy include in my prayers and wish you and your relatives that the tears of sadness will eventually will turn into a smile of loving memory some times. (or anytimes. irgendwann is the german word.)
It is very, very sad that she had to go, but maybe there is a little bit consolation that you could be with her in the end. she was not alone. (It was consolation to me by my mothers dead)
Thank you everyone, I can't say to much but know it's appreciated 🙂
Re-posting the great picture of Bruce and Joy (from their sailing years most likely) that Rick re-mastered and posted in chat, so it would not get lost in the chat scroll.
