Name this bird that I saw on cam5 today. Bruce thinks maybe a pale rosella. Seems to have rosella markings but different colors. Also looks similar to the Adelaide rosella. My guess is a hybrid rosella of some kind. Maybe it is something entirely different. Any ideas anyone?

Great group effort with many contributions to identify this yellow rosella. 👍 Great shots Rick, a nice closeup showing the colors distinctly. Van, nice screenshots with the best clarity yet showing the markings and colors. Kim, all this excitement started with your new view on your cam that attracted this bird. Bruce started us off with getting into the ballpark of the Rosella family. Great job Khynan on your final definitive ID. I am glad I opened up this can of worms. 😊 This bird is definitely a yellow rosella. 👍
I found this internet link and discussion to be interesting: The Yellow Rosella (Platycercus flaveolus) - also known as Yellow Crimson Rosella - is a recently discovered subspecies of the Crimson Rosella, (Platycercus elegans). The main difference between the two is that those parts of the Crimson Rosella which are red are bright yellow on the Yellow Rosella. https://www.beautyofbirds.com/yellowrosellas.html
Rick, could you please add this bird to the Bird Identifier area? 😉
Galahs seen today on cam1:
Lovely seeing these galahs - the cockatoo was outnumbered by 4 of them!
... and a pair of galahs visited Kim's home cam
